How low can the European Central Bank go?

The ECB left interest rates of the main refinancing operation, marginal lending facility, and deposit facility at 0.00%, 0.25% and -0.40%. The Bank reiterated the gradual recovery seen in the Eurozone and its commitment to achieving the inflation target. Nevertheless, policy and political uncertainty, the impact fo negative interest rates on the Eurozone economy and the composition of future asset purchases remain a focal point in determining future monetary policy.
